Gary was the one in charge of getting the shows you watch on PBS12 on the air.. he is sorely missed! We are heartbroken to announce the passing of one of our own PBS12 family, Gary Fultz. Gary served PBS12 as a Master Control operator for nearly 10 years, he had a deep expertise in his field, a passion for our work, and carried such institutional knowledge with him. Gary wasn’t one for the limelight, often working behind the scenes, but he was an integral part of PBS12, and we are all grieving his loss. ... See MoreSee Less

As soon as I wrapped up today’s video shoot at Women's Bean Project, I just had to make a batch of their delish oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
Thanks to the women who made this mix (and all the other food mixes) and thanks to soon-to-be-graduates Bri, Christine & Espy for sharing your stories with me. I’m so impressed and inspired by each of you & wow’s by how the Women’s Bean Project is such a positive force in guiding Colorado women as they transform and better their lives.

We are ready for this week’s Colorado Inside Out.. so stay inside, stay warm and join us at 8 on PBS12 or check out our show streaming anytime on YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

There is a lot going on outside Colorado these days but there’s still plenty going on inside Colorado to discuss as well.

Stay warm this weekend!

I'm sad to see Comal Heritage Food Incubator closing next month... what an impact it has made on so many women, like Silvia Hernandez. I met Silvia in 2018 when Comal was operating in Denver's Taxi community. I was working on a story for Focus Points Family Resource Center which set up Comal to help develop food-based entrepreneurs among low-income women who came to CO as immigrants or refugees from countries like Iraq, Syria, Mexico, El Salvador, Syria, Ethiopia and Peru.

Silvia came to Colorado with her two children from Mexico. She didn't know anyone but she jumped at the opportunity to work at Comal where she perfected her moles and tamales. Between time in the Comal kitchen and micro-business classes offered through Focus Points, she moved on, successfully running her own restaurants and her catering business in Denver. Silvia isn't the only success story from Comal since it opened in 2016. The plan is to keep serving lunches through Valentine's Day in Rino Art Park (1950 35th St) and hopefully, Focus Points will be able to resurrect the food incubator and the opportunities it offers. The non-profit told Westword "we are actively seeking a like-minded operator to take over the space and continue a mission-driven culinary enterprise."

Stories connect communities. Stories that highlight the good around us resonate with and engage people.

This is what can make a profound impact on community. I seek out and tell these stories.

My gift is my ability to listen. I will hear your words, connect with you, and identify what will ignite passion in others. Allow me to tell the story that needs to be told and be the legs it needs to journey far beyond the confines of your circle.

I work with various budgets, constraints, and needs. The important part is that your story gets out.

Women’s Bean Project Planting Roots in New Space in 2022

Now that November is here, construction will soon be starting on the future home of Women's Bean Project... look at this massive space!!! Life changing work will be happening here! This coming Spring of 2022, Womens Bean Project will make the move from it's 2,500...

“You make people comfortable in telling their stories and YOU have the way of making them pop for the reader. They come alive; readers feel the joy and pain. You have ability for straight-forward factual presentation. Your stories are ours, and the impact with which you share brings the community into action.”
